On the second day of the full moon in February, the weather conditions were perfect for a tour to the Schober.
The moonrise was at 18:46, so I started my hike 2 hours before because whenever I sleep on the mountain, I carry more gear and water with me, which slows my pace to reach the summit.

As I reached the first summit (Frauenkopf), I decided to watch the sunset from there, and after the sunset, I would go to the Schober and get into the refuge house. So I did, and before it got pitch dark, I reached my goal for the day. I still had 40 minutes left until the moonrise, so I made my bed for the night comfortable.

20 minutes before the moonrise, I went to the peak and set my camera to make a timelapse.
10 minutes before the moonrise, you could already see from where exactly the moon was going to light the sky golden. As it appeared on the horizon, everything around it was gold, and as the moon appeared, it glowed like a huge fireball.
I love this moment so much, so magical, special, filled with energy. It always reminds me of the ongoing circle as life also goes.
I was just sitting there for at least half an hour and just enjoyed the beautiful performance of nature.
Later on, I went back to the house because it is still February, and the temperature drops easily below 0°C at this altitude. I cooked some dinner and read my book. As the moon rose higher, it was lighting in the house. I didn’t even need a light because I could see everything due to the moonlight.
There was only one very interesting thing that night: the wind.
The wind usually blows very strongly at the peak, but this time on the peak, it was so calm like never before. But the refuge house is located about 10 meters below the peak, and in that “channel,” the wind was blowing so strongly that it made it almost impossible to fall asleep.
In the end, I could fall asleep and couldn’t wait to wake up in the early morning and witness the moonset and the sunrise.

As I went outside, I realized that the wind had stopped, and it was a magical morning before the sunrise. The sky was stunning, colored with pink, orange, red, and the MOON! It was so huge before it was about to set. I set my camera for another time lapse of the sunrise, which rose at 7:02.
I brewed some fresh coffee in the morning, sat outside, waited for the first sunshine to warm my face, and enjoyed this peaceful Monday morning.

After the sun rose and I enjoyed my sunbath, I packed my stuff and started to descend.
In 1 hour and 20 minutes, I arrived back at the car and drove back to the city.
What a beautiful start to the week!
Here is the result of the timelapse, enjoy!
