Eisriesenwelt

Did you know that the world’s largest ice cave is in Austria? Less than 1 hour away from Salzburg!
Ice cave with a line of people walking in the dark.

The moment you enter the cave, a new world opens up for you—the world of ice, where it feels like time is just an illusion and doesn’t exist. A world of silence and peace. Walking
through this ice cave, where at some places the size of the cave could fit 3 football fields, is a personal delight for me. I always enjoy revisiting this place.

There is a guided tour that takes around 1.5 hours and has 1,400 steps to go up and down. Leaving our car at the parking spot, we can choose to take the cable car up to the entrance
of the cave or hike for about 2 hours.

On this day, we chose the cable car with Mudhaher. I can highly recommend this tour for everyone who wants to experience a feeling of time traveling, where, as I said… Time does
not exist. 🙂
